Queenstown is a resort town located in the picturesque Southern Lakes Region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in New Zealand, and offers a wide range of tourist activities ranging from a relaxing cruise on Lake Wakatipu, to a hair-raising ride on a river jetboat, to an even more hair-raising bungy jump off the historic Kawarau Bridge (the first commercial bungy jump site in the world). November weather can be unpredictable but is usually very pleasant, with an average high of 18oC, and low of 7oC. The scenery is spectacular and there are many activities within a few hours of Queenstown - fishing, winery tours, alpine hike, or cruises on the majestic Milford sound.

NZ is renowned for both wine and seafood. Queenstown and Central Otago are especially renowned for their excellent Pinot Noir wines. On the seafood front, there is a wide range including blue cod, mussels, paua (abalone) and bluff oysters. For land-based food, there's nothing quite like highland fed lamb or venison from one of the many lamb or deer farms in the area. And of course, there are plenty of vegetarian options.
