Children need to have previously attended a daycare centre. All meals are provided by the centre.

As well as the general activities in the centre, the Holiday Programme includes roller blading, T ball, soccer, netball, beading, swimming, science experiments, etc. Children need to bring their own lunch (can be something which staff can heat such as pies, pizza, noodles, etc); the centre provides morning and afternoon tea. Children also need to bring a sunhat, drink bottle, spare change of clothes.

Attendees wishing to book their children into OUCA's Preschool or School Holiday Programme should e-mail ouca@es.co.nz with their details before 22nd December 2003.

Woodhaugh Children's Centre runs a popular Before & After School and School Holiday Programme using the SEACOH (Structured Environment Allowing for Communicative Original Happenings) philosophy. As well as the general activities in the Centre, the Holiday Programme includes trips out to the movies, mini-golf, museum, aquarium, soccer, bowling, etc. Children need to bring their own lunch (can be something which staff can heat such as pies, pizza, noodles, etc); the centre provides morning and afternoon tea. Children also need to bring a sunhat and possibly a spare change of clothes.

Attendees wishing to book their children into Woodhaugh Children's Centre should e-mail acsw@cs.otago.ac.nz with their details. Bookings preferably to be made at least one week before attendance commences.

CADBURY WORLD

Cadbury World is located in the centre of Dunedin city at the Cadbury Factory site. Learn about the history of chocolate and Cadbury in New Zealand and some of the secrets and tricks of handling and cooking with chocolate.
Cadbury World tours are available 7 days a week - 9am to 4pm, with extended hours Monday - Saturday until 17th April to 7pm. Group Tours at other times by arrangement.

DUNEDIN PUBLIC ART GALLERY

  • Sunday workshops for families: Pre-Raphaelite Exhibition (26 Nov 2003 - 15 Feb 2004)
    A programme of activities for children, timed to coincide with the 3pm lectures. These events are especially for parents wishing to attend the lectures without children - but adults and children are both welcome. Activities include: weaving a lily, picturing yourself as a Pre-Raphaelite, cool crowns for kings and queens, pom-pom pomegranates, knights in armour, wings and things and other Pre-Raphaelie accessories.

NZ MARINE STUDIES CENTRE

  • Junior Marine Biologist for 9 - 12 yr olds (21-23 January 2003)
    There will be laboratory sessions, videos, art projects, feeding of aquarium animals and other activities. Transport is provided from dunedin to Portobello each day. vehicles will leave the Dunedin Railway Station at 09:30 and arrive back at 15:30. Please bring your own lunch and also some warm clothing. Even in summer, the wind is sometimes chilly on the Otago Peninsula.

    It's Electrifying! answers all of these questions and more with over 40 interactive displays and regularly scheduled shows. Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are featured, as are themes such as how electricity is used in entertainment, communication and transport. Megawatt - It's Electrifying! comes from Scienceworks in Melbourne and will be presented in Discovery World from 13 December 2003 until 1 February 2004. Discovery World admission charges apply.
