Kevin Novins Travelling Scholarship/Fellowship

The Scholarship

Applications are called for the Kevin Novins Travelling Scholarship. Applications are open to postgraduate Computer Science students at the University of Otago for the purposes of extended travel to one or more universities in the USA. Applicants are expected to spend not less than 6 weeks in the USA at the host institution. Applications should include: an up-to-date curriculum vitae, an itinerary of travel, a letter of invitation from the host institution, an approximate indication of costs, and an outline of the research to be conducted whilst in the USA. Costs can include travel plus sustenance.

The Fellowship

Applications are called for the Kevin Novins Traveling Fellowship. Applications are open to Computer Science academics from the United States of America for the purposes of visiting the University of Otago Computer Science Department for a period of not less than 10 working days . Applications should include: an up-to-date curriculum vitae, an approximate indication of costs, and an outline of the collaborative work to be undertaken. Costs can include travel, sustenance, plus a small emolument.

Note: Usually only one of either a scholarship or fellowship will be offered in any one calendar year, to be determined by the selection committee.

About the Scholarship/Fellowship

Dr Kevin Novins was a valued member of the Department of Computer Science from 1995-2001 who tragically passed away in 2011. This scholarship/fellowship has been made possible by a generous bequest from the Novins family to the Alumni of the University of Otago in America.
