The CBIS Emerging Research Theme organises a Brain-storming Session on "Knowledge Acquisition in Biological and Artificial Neural Networks" The session will discuss in an open mode ideas on the following topics: 1. How biological neurons and biological neural networks (BNN)learn. 2. Methods for knowledge acquisition and rule extraction in artificial neural networks (ANN). 3. Is it possible to extract and record knowledge from BNN? Can we use the methods from the ANN? 4. Is it possible to build machines that learn multiple spoken languages from data? Anybody who is ready to share their ideas with the rest of the crowd is welcome! Short presentations will be given at the beginning by A/Prof. Robert Miller (on biological neurons) and other members of the CBIS Theme. When: Tuesday, 1 December at 3-5pm Where: Commerce CO4.19-4.20
