Title: "Spatially Dispersed Genetic Algorithm"
The standard Genetic Algorithm (GA) uses a population of individuals where there are no constraints on interbreeding. The use of space in GA's has previously been explored to reduce premature convergence through two main approaches: island-based and cellular-based. This talk introduces a new method of spatially structuring a genetic algorithm population on a continuous surface that requires minimal user interaction for reasonable performance.
