Merging optical holograms with 3D graphical elements can provide an acceptable tradeoff between quality and interactivity: The holographic data provides high-quality but static content while additional graphical information can be generated, inserted, modified and animated at interactive rates. The talk includes an overview of general 'holographical' methods and interaction techniques. Several applications are being presented.
