Title:

Tartini - the real-time music analysis tool

Location:

Archway 2 - 1:00 pm, Friday 15 September

Abstract:

Pitch recognition has application in a variety of fields such as music information retrieval, automated score writing, computer gaming, speech recognition and more. My focus is on designing a robust pitch recognition system, and then providing ways to visualise aspects of the sound's features using this. Some of these features are of interest to musicians and music teachers. Following a brief overview of our Tartini system, I'll delve into topics such as context sensitive pitch, note separation by pitch, and vibrato analysis.
