In 2005 the department was asked to take part in an ambitious project in the Sultanate of Oman. Five Colleges of Education in Oman were to be converted to Colleges of Applied Science and New Zealand was approached to assist with this restructuring. The role of Computer and Information Science is to provide suitable courses in Information Technology. Towards the end of March I was asked "Do you want to got to Oman?" I went in April.
This seminar is the story of my visit, along with some explanation of what we are doing, why we are doing it and why it is important.
