A report on the Telecommunications (Intercept Capability) Act 2004, re-presenting a very interesting talk given by Dean Pemberton at the New Zealand Network Operators Group 2008 (NZNOG'08) held in January at the Dunedin Museum. Such legislation provides important use-cases when designing network services and customer management software, so it is important for developers and IT management staff to be aware of the issues.
