Title: Fuzzy thoughts on Neural Networks

People often talk a lot of rot about multilayer perceptrons. It is easy to find wrong information from people who ought to know better concerning architecture (whether you need 1 or 2 hidden layers, for instance), training (mis-labelling backprop as a weight-optimisation strategy), and generalisation. The last one is really irksome: MLPs are just considered to be magically better than other models.
