I've been a Teaching Fellow here since I graduated at the end of 2002. My parents had previously commented that I'd get swallowed by the department, and it seems as though they were right. Not that I'm complaining - this is a great place to work, and it's fun seeing that look students get when the penny drops.

My role is basically to run around after the students taking COSC326 Effective Programming, one of those papers that everyone loves in retrospect. I was thrown in the deep end a bit, starting work at the prelim lecture in 2003, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I also run tutorials for COSC343 (Artificial Intelligence) and COSC344 (Databases).

It is a source of continual astonishment to me that I've found myself in a job with the word "Teaching" in the title.
