Advice

Each department has one or more advisers of studies. The adviser's job is to help you with the choices you need to make --- which degree, which major subject, which papers. Advisers lurk in the nooks and crannies of their departments except for a brief period before the start of each semester, when they are conveniently stationed in large open spaces like Smithell's Gymnasium.

If you have any questions about studying computer science at Otago, you can contact an adviser by one of the following routes:

  • email the departmental advisers,
  • telephone the department office at 03 479 8397 to arrange an appointment,
  • simply drop in for a face-to-face chat --- if you call in at the departmental office in Owheo Building, you will be directed to an available adviser.
